Privacy Notice
Last updated 9 August 2026.
This notice explains how Ingrid Hansen, trading as FuelFast, based in South Africa, handles your personal information when you use FuelFast at fuelfast.app. We are the responsible party (data controller) for that information, which means we decide why and how it is processed.
What we collect and why
- Account details (name, email address, password credentials handled by our authentication provider) — to create and secure your account and sign you in. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Training and nutrition inputs (sport, goals, weekly sessions, intensities, dietary preferences, saved meals) — to generate your fuelling plans, grocery lists and prep tasks. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Subscription status (plan, renewal dates, trial status) — to give you access to the features you've paid for. Legal basis: contract. Card details are never collected or stored by us.
- Support messages you send us — to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interests in supporting our users.
- Usage and technical data (pages visited, feature usage, device type, browser, IP address, log data) — to keep the service secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the product. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Marketing preferences — if you opt in, we send occasional product and training-nutrition emails. Legal basis: consent, withdrawable at any time via the unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
- Merchant of Record: Paddle.com handles the sale of subscriptions, payment processing, subscription management, tax compliance and invoicing. Paddle processes your payment details directly under its own privacy notice.
- Service providers (operators/subprocessors): our hosting, database, authentication and email delivery providers, who process data on our instructions.
- Professional advisers such as accountants or lawyers, where necessary.
- Authorities where we are legally required to disclose information.
We do not sell your personal information.
International transfers
Some of our providers store or process data outside South Africa. Where that happens we rely on providers who are bound by contractual safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) that give your information a comparable level of protection, as required by section 72 of POPIA.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and plan data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account we delete or anonymise your personal information within 90 days, except records we must keep longer for tax, accounting or legal reasons (typically five years).
Your rights
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you can ask us to confirm what personal information we hold, request access to it, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, and withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Email hello@fuelfast.app and we'll respond within a reasonable period, normally 30 days. If you're unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, row-level database security and hashed credentials. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your data safe and will notify you and the Regulator of a compromise where required.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your plan preferences and secure checkout. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though essential ones are needed for the app to work.
Children
FuelFast is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes and contact
We'll update this notice when our practices change and post the new date at the top. Any questions or suggestions? Email hello@fuelfast.app — we'd love to hear from you.
